Being nervous about your pregnancy, delivery, and being a mom is totally normal for someone who’s pregnant. At Parkridge, we have a program called BRIDGES that is designed especially for first time moms. BRIDGES is an informative and interactive program about pregnancy and parenting. It’s designed to meet some of the needs you’ll encounter during your pregnancy through practical information, emotional support, and baby supplies.
BRIDGES topics include:
The issues that you are dealing with are not just medical – they are emotional and relational as well. Parkridge has licensed professional counselors on staff that can help you work through this difficult time if you need help beyond your initial medical care. We also have individual post-abortion counseling available for those who are having a hard time coping with a previous abortion.
If you’re struggling with negative thoughts and feelings related to a past abortion, you’re not alone. In addition to individual counseling, we offer post abortion support groups that allow a group of women to process through their feelings and find hope and healing together. It can often help to talk to others who are dealing with the same thing. These groups are facilitated by a licensed professional counselor and a woman who has gone through an abortion.
If your needs extend beyond the scope of services that Parkridge offers, we can often connect you to organizations in our community that may offer the help that you need. We have a list of resources that offer beneficial services to our clients, often at no charge.
