Before you’re ready for an abortion, consider these steps:
Take a pregnancy test
Get a free ultrasound to confirm you’re pregnant
Get tested for STDs
Parkridge can provide you with a free pregnancy test, nurse consultation, limited ultrasound, and testing for sexually transmitted infections.
What’s the next step?
There are a couple of things to consider before obtaining the abortion pill. If you’ve already received a positive pregnancy test, you should verify your result with an ultrasound. An ultrasound will detect if your pregnancy is in the uterus and how far along you are. This is important to know if you’re considering any type of abortion. Parkridge can provide you with this information and a free ultrasound. Our full time medical and counseling staff are here to help you sort through all your options so you can make a decision that works for you.

What is the abortion pill?
According to the FDA, the abortion pill (sometimes called a medical abortion) is a series of 2 pills used as a non-surgical way to end a pregnancy. These medications are not the same as those commonly referred to as morning-after pill or Plan B. Several factors may impact the effectiveness of the abortion pill, and usually follow up care after treatment is recommended.
